thats an awesome time considering your using stock tires ,did you drop the pressure before your runs? with slicks you can drop your time even more, now its time to call tire rack after those burnouts LOL
real nice.

Looks good, sounds nice. How steep a gear could you run without red lining it at the end of the 1/4 mile? Don't feel bad with that 3.50 - I have a 3.25 open!!! Sad Glenn tells me a 3.73 posi is a perfect match to my build, so I'll save the stocker and look for a nice used 3.73. You'll be down near or even in the 12's with steeper gears alone as long as you don't run out of top gear.

I'm a sucker for anything Fairlane/Torino on video:) I'm hoping to have my own 460 stroker done in about 2 months or so. I'm in the final stages of getting all the parts together. One thing I always wondered is what kind of heads you use?

Phil,
That is sweet... a perfect burn for slicks to bad they are street tires. Glenn must have enjoyed burning someone elses tires (yours). Your car may drop a second or more with sticky's.
I came very close to doing the Norwalk trip. If you set something up again next summer I promise that I will go and we can take my wheels/tires off my car and put them on your car for a couple of runs to see what happens. Can I run your BFG's to see how much I slow down?
Your car will not pass tech with slicks and no loop but if you bring it in on street tires for tech and we swap they will not see it. A risk and a true test for your drive shaft. You running the 3.5 inch drive shaft?

There are plans to do 2 more rentals next year. I wanted to run street trim to set a benchmark to see how it would do as a driver. In fact Chris had soem DRs on magnums and I considered putting them on to be sneakey and freak some guys out. Since the car was running poorly 1/2 the runs I didn't do it (that and the 28 splines). I don't have a clue which shaft I have. Tommy made it at DANA but I think its from the 302 setup. Ill add a hoop next spring.

After getting the car running again I commented that it felt slow to me and I couldn't really get a decent burnout.
He decided to show me how to do it Laughing

Dont be concerned about 28 splines when you have an automatic and your level of power. The only reason I changed to 31 was for the Detroit locker. My 28 spline axles look great. You can mark them with a straight line and then periodically pull them to check for twist. There are many GM cards out there with 500 hp and 28 splines.
In the video I can hear the engine break up at the end of the track. Sounds like its running out of gas. The track will show you the weaknes where on the street you wont see it. The track looks nice and sticky.
If you have those Norwalk dates now let me know and I will put them on the calender.

Car was breaking up real bad and kept stalling all day. I was lazy all summer and drove it anyway and it would occaisionally die at random. I even modified my driving habits to compensate. Finally swapped the fuel filter and it seemed to go away for the final month of driving season.

Track was sticky enough to pull my shoes off twice Laughing

it was 91 degrees that day. In october Shocked
