Wow!

I went to look at a guy's stuff one time...selling a Mustang drag car, trailer, spare engines, trannys, pumpkins, etc. The car had a small ding in the front of the hood, cowl, and front edge of the roof. Everything looked to be in good shape so I asked why he was getting out of everything...pretty obvious he had lost complete interest even though it was all nice stuff and an extensive collection. I guess he was running 90+ when the guy beside him lost a driveshaft...that is what put the dings in his car. After that he was done...the one Mustang he was keeping was being returned to the street.

It's bad enough when you tear up your own equipment... but when you take out the guy next to you too, that sucks. On the other hand I think a set of bars would have been a nice addition to many of those cars. I'm not sure why you wouldn't run them if your car is prone to drag the bumper. Of course if dragging the rear and flattening your oil pan tickles your fancy, mission accomplished.

Wheelie bars are not permitted in many of the small tire classes.

Another reason not to own a pinto, besides the gas tank blowing up.

Except that's a Chevette. I don't need a reason to not own one of those, lol.

This is all why the Fairlane Just looks like a drag car !!
You can buy fox-bodied mustangs drag cars all day long around here rolling for $2500... but they look like caskets to me !!
