The Detroit Area Torino / Fairlane Mini-Meet was July 28, 2001. A great time it was! We had approximately 70 cars or so and everyone agreed that with 22 of the 70-71 model Torinos, it was the largest number of them ever assembled (in recent years). I owe a great deal of thanks to everyone who participated. Without you, this could never have happened. We had people come from Ohio, Indiana, Ontario Canada, and Ed Nowakowski came up from North Carolina! I tried to get as many pictures of the cars that I could. I apologize if I missed yours, and I apparently missed a lot. I feel really bad now that I have had a chance to look at them (feeling semi healthy) and seeing just how many I did miss. Really good friends cars even! The weather was great, the view was wonderful, and the people were spectacular! We were even able to drive our cars down to the water for photos. I on the other hand was sick for 2 days, threw my back out that morning, and was miserable. I apologize if I was below par for the event. It always seems that when you plan something for long that something inevitably happens. The general consensus is that we should make this an annual event so......... ENJOY!! If you took photos and want to send them to me I will be glad to add them!!! I will be adding names as I go along..... PS. Our deepest thanks to those that donated door prizes; Dearborn Classics, AutoKrafters, Marti Auto Works, Total Control Products, and Ed Nowakowski! |
